About the Architect

OutsideIn Architecture, LLC, is a full-service planning, architecture, interior design and LEED consulting firm located in Brooksville, FL. The firm’s principal architect is Darren Azdell, AIA, NCARB, LEED BD+C.

Mr. Azdell has over 27 years of experience in commercial architecture, building construction, planning, real estate development and property management. A graduate of the University of Florida and graduate from the University of South Florida, summa cum laude, Mr. Azdell has overseen the development, design and building of over 25 million square feet of premium office, lab, institutional, industrial, multi-family, senior living, government and mixed use projects.

Mr. Azdell has also served continuously as an Adjunct Assoc. Professor for the University of South Florida for over 18 years sharing and expanding knowledge in Sustainable Design and Development.

Mr. Azdell founded OutsideIn Architecture, LLC with Marnie Azdell, BS University of Florida, to specialize in environmentally and economically sustainable architecture in Florida and Georgia. “It is great to be practicing what we teach and WellCome OM is an outstanding example of how a project can be developed in a team environment to be successful, enjoyable and extraordinary for our community,” says Azdell.

WellCome OM will incorporate many of the environmental design principles used by OutsideIn to promote a campus environment of education, living and healing. Each element of the campus has been thoughtfully planned, from preservation to remediation to coincide with the mission of the center.

WellCome OM Integral Healing and Education Center is spearheaded by Dr. Maria Scunziano-Singh. “Our goal at the center is to embrace and educate our fellow humans individually and collectively in harmony for the attainment and sustenance of health, peace and fulfillment in life.”

WellCome OM’s goal is to provide instruction and guidance on how to achieve successful outcomes in all aspects of living. The center is being created to help all who come, especially young women and men (young in heart and mind), enhance their minds and bodies for all current and future endeavors.

The vision statement is as follows: WellCome OM is a “collective effort of conscious energies to awaken, educate, nurture, and heal. Herein lies a collection of exceptional talent, wisdom, and skill in order to make a positive difference where totality of health is the goal.”

The center will consist of three buildings nestled on six acres of land among beautiful gardens, pathways, and natural habitat to promote an eco-friendly and sustainable environment. The buildings include an auratorium, yoga exercise studio and demonstration kitchen, and a wellness center. The entire property, including furniture will be eco-friendly and self-sustainable. Plans even include reclaiming and recycling rain water for irrigation.
