Be Empowered Teens & Youth Logo

Creating a community of informed, open-minded, confident young people.

Our mission is to empower teens and youths with the knowledge they need to make informed choices about their health and feel confident in their everyday decisions and relationships.

We focus on critical health topics including self-worth, consent & boundaries, communication, diversity & inclusion, mental health, and more. We welcome students of all genders, sexualities, cultures, and beliefs.

Be EMPOWERED is supported by The Auroveda Foundation, a non-profit organization which attempts to create a global community of healthy and educated individuals.

The iEmpower Club

The iEmpower Club is a youth-driven group that seeks to educate the community about critical teen health topics. The iEmpower Club aims to give teens and youths the tools and confidence they need to make informed decisions in their everyday lives.

The club is a great opportunity for high school students to:

• Empower themselves and other teens
• Make a difference in their community
• Gain volunteer hours and leadership skills
• Make new friends and have fun!

Our educational workshop groups are safe, non-judgmental spaces for middle and high school students only! We talk about important health topics such as self-worth, diversity, mental health, sexual health, peer pressure, & more.

It’s a great place to ask those “weird” questions, vent about teen/youth struggles, learn relevant life skills, and make friends!

  • Attend one workshop per week located at the WellCome OM Center, 4242 Lake in the Woods Drive
  • New topic each week!

Meet the Educator

Sarina Singh is a Peer Educator at WellCome OM and the creator of Be EMPOWERED. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from New York University in May 2018 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry.

Though she has a great appreciation for the natural sciences, she also has tremendous passion for teen and youth health education. Sarina has spent the last three years working with students in NYC, helping them to feel more confident and empowered through informative, non-judgmental health programs such as Peer Health Exchange.

She wants to ensure that through Be EMPOWERED, teens and youths will be able to feel supported, openly talk about their feelings, and learn the skills they need to make well-informed health decisions.
